Kim Harshaw
MS, LCMHCS
Clinical Coordinator

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Supervisor, and I serve as the Clinical

Coordinator and DBT Group Coordinator at Wisdom Path.   I have been practicing

in the mental health field since graduating from Walden University in 2014 with a

MS in Mental Health Counseling. I also continued my education at UNC-

Greensboro and received my Approved Clinical Supervisor certification.

I believe it is important to create a safe space for clients to be able to process their

thoughts and feelings. I like to think of myself as a kind, compassionate, warm,

and understanding individual. I truly believe that life is a journey, not a destination,

and people are capable of navigating life’s path with all its twists and turns if they

have a working GPS system. I provide that for my clients by teaching them the

skills needed to be mindful, tolerate distress, regulate their emotions, and interact

effectively with those around them through the use of Dialectical Behavior

Therapy. I have experience helping clients with relationship problems, anxiety,

depression, trauma, mood disorders, and personality disorders. I have a passion for

working one on one with those who experience chronic pain and helping them to

regain control of their lives; I have provided pain management in the form of

workshops and groups.  I strongly believe in the power of being kind to yourself

and ending the madness of self-criticism. I attempt to instill in my clients the self-

compassion needed to end a toxic cycle of being and instead walk the path to a

healthier, happier life.

When I am not working, I enjoy planning visits and activities to deepen my

connection with family and friends, and reading for personal, professional, and

spiritual growth.
